“The biggest challenge, I think, is always maintaining your moral compass.”
Life can often present us with some of our greatest obstacles to overcome. But what may go unnoticed while we are in the midst of facing them is where the true challenge lies: within ourselves. It is there that we either maintain our moral compass we have worked so hard to develop and control or lose ourselves completely and choose a path that leads us down a road of uncertainty and internal conflict.
We need to be cautious and not give into such unsavory things like greed, anger or envy. These can quickly consume us and cloud our judgement if we aren’t too careful. It is important to remember when we are staring into the face of adversity it is in this moment that we need to focus on what we value most in life and believe in. These are things like honesty, dependability, and our dedication to servicing others just to name a few. Each of us are on our own path towards self-discovery and it is only through utilizing the attributes of our own moral compass that we will in fact reach our destination. Just like we need to always keep up on the maintenance of our vehicles and the homes so that everything runs accordingly we need to do the same for our us internally. The best way to do this is through journaling which allows us to reflect, think of what we are grateful for and map out our next steps towards further developing ways to better ourselves. That is how we can successfully maintain our moral compass.
