“If you have a moral compass, and you stay with it, people will always gravitate towards you.”
When I think of our moral compass, I look at it as having that innate potential within each of us to be a shining light and a beacon of hope for others to gravitate towards in their time of need. Another visual that comes to mind is that like a lighthouse that guides a lost ship in stormy waters to shore and safety, our moral compass is also a guide.
Each year our school starts off reading a theme based book to inspire our students. This year we read the book “Flicker of Hope” where the story lets students know that when dark clouds are over our heads that they are temporary and it is ok to ask for others for help. There are times when we need to borrow some hope from somebody else. For me I think our hope really is our moral compass.
It is important that we continue to stay the course, no matter what life may throw our way, because others will need us, even those who we have yet to meet and look towards our moral compass in helping them navigate through whatever they maybe struggling with. This, in turn will fill their own moral compass bucket and use what they learned from you by helping someone else in their time of need. #themoralcompasslife
