“One’s vision is not a road map but a compass.”
Vision is the ability to think about or plan for the future with imagination or wisdom. It’s where creativity meets opportunities which can become limitless with the right mindset. Now you may be wondering what the difference between a road map and a compass is because both if used correctly, can help you reach your destination and make your vision a reality.
A road map over time can become obsolete as areas change when new roadways are added and land is built upon. It becomes outdated and unusable. For a compass, this will not affect it’s functionality because it’s purpose is to orient people towards a certain course or direction even when faced with certain terrains like mountains, lakes and other unsettled territory. That unsettled territory is similar to what lies in the future and is the unknown while those other areas mentioned are like the obstacles we sometimes are faced with as we live our lives.
When someone has a vision, they have direction. When we use our moral compass to guide us through life’s never changing terrains, it adjusts to the situations we are facing and continues to evolve through these new experiences we encounter. Essentially it helps us to adapt to our surroundings and provide the necessary flexibility needed in an unpredictable and ever changing life. Our moral compass allows us to lead with our heart.
