“I think self-awareness is probably the most important thing towards being a champion.”
-Billie Jean King
Champions are defined as being someone that has defeated or surpassed all opponents in a competition and is most commonly associated with individual and team sports. Champions are instilled with certain qualities and is something that is built over time and through a solid understanding of who they are otherwise known as self-awareness.
They train not only their body but also simultaneously their thought processes, creating true balance in developing a well rounded athlete or team. They are mindful of what their strengths and weaknesses are and what is needed to further define and refine them. It is a never ending process and it is only through hard work and effort that true success is achieved.
Now being a champion is not limited to sports. We all can be a champion in the arena of life by becoming more self-aware. If we take the time to know who we are, reflect on where we came from and determine the direction we want to go in, we are able to build and maintain a champion mindset that we can all live by.
