“I think it’s always important to be vigilant of what you’re doing and aware of your surroundings.”
In everything we do we must remember to be mindful and know our surroundings by realizing how our actions can impact others. This sense of social awareness, learning to stand in someone else’s shoes allows us to grow as a person while strengthening our relationships with others. Now in order to develop a strong social awareness schema, we need to have a certain level of comfort with ourselves as self awareness can serve as an agent for this change to occur.
The greatest challenge is adapting to the ever changing surroundings we experience within a given day. How we conduct ourselves in one area of our lives can be different in another. Our mannerisms and behavior combined with our level comfortability in the situation we are in has a significant impact on how we conduct ourselves in our surroundings. This is most often seen in the comparison between how we are at work and home. That does not mean we are completely different people but we understand that the social norms and the make up of the surroundings are not the same and this directly affects how we behave. Like a chameleon adapts to their surroundings in the rainforest we must do the same while still maintaining who we are and what we believe in.
