“Your legacy is being written by yourself. Make the right decisions.”
Each of us has both the capability and equal opportunity to leave a impactful legacy with those that we interact with throughout our lives. This legacy should serve as remembrance of what we have accomplished as well as highlight the challenges we may have endured and overcame. It is however my hope that the accomplishments live on and through the impact you have had on others in helping them to become better themselves. That to me, is an everlasting legacy.
Our legacy is defined by the decisions we make. It is crucial for us to think ahead to how these decisions will not only impact us but to those around us. Some decisions warrant a quick turn around time while others will need more time devoted in weighing all the options thoroughly and assess things before coming to a final decision. The challenge is that sometimes a decision’s impact may not be felt until years down the road. I write this not to prevent you from making decisions on things, but rather just to be mindful of thinking ahead and what future ramifications may result from it. Regardless, please remember that not all decisions will be the right ones and that is ok as long as we learn from them. If we can do that, then our legacy will only become that much stronger.
