“It takes courage…to endure the sharp pains of self discovery rather than chose to take the dull pain of unconsciousness that would last the rest of our lives.”
Life is hard. There is no denying this. Courage is having the ability to stand and face whatever challenges come our way knowing that if we persevere we will make it through to the other side. Today’s message is about using that courage, that each of us already possesses, to cope with the sharp pains of self discovery that we all go through. We get knocked down, we get back up again.
Our pathway towards self awareness and knowing who we truly are cannot be achieved without certain sacrifices and struggles along the way. If we tried to skirt past each challenge that lied before us we most likely would mot likely never reach our true potential or become who we were meant to be. What kind of life would that be? Each day would be the same old day with no change in sight and we’d be leading very boring and uneventful lives.
Do you realize how the odds of us being born is like 1 in 400 trillion? Why would you want to waste a grand opportunity to become who you were meant to be? Is it scary? Yes. Fear of the unknown. Some of your decisions will turn out for the best, while some will not. It’s a roll of the dice. The one piece of advice I can say is like Marianne Williamson says: be courageous. Each step or misstep leads you closer to finding out your true destiny. And for me that is a risk I am willing to take.
What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards improving your self awareness?
