One Thing to Never Forget

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

-Maya Angelou

      This quote by Maya Angelou is often the one that we here often in our different circles and it is one that resonates with me every time I hear it. I believe more of us should live by this saying in how we conduct ourselves when we interact with others on a daily basis. This, in my opinion, is the difference between what makes a relationship strong from one that is weak.

In retrospect based on my own experiences, I’m sure that people have most likely forgotten specific compliments I may have given them or words of encouragement I may have provided them in their time of need (unless I gave them a handwritten note saying those same things). I’m sure people don’t remember the times that I helped him in whatever situation or difficulty they may have been going through. Please do not misunderstand me. I have never and will never do things expecting something in return. It is just not in my DNA or how I was raised. My goal has always been to have a positive impact on people and make people feel good about themselves by helping them realize that this world is a better place with them in it.

It is because of the relationships I have built with others over time that I have continued to push myself towards reaching others. I may not ever officially meet them in person but if I’m able to inspire them in any way through my daily messages on here and help them to feel better about themselves in the process then I have accomplished my mission in serving my purpose in life (to serve others) and that’s what matters.
