“The most effective way to do it is to do it.”
Before Nike coined the phrase “Just do it”, there was the famous American aviator Amelia Earhart. If there was ever a go getter she was it. Amelia Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She set many flying records and helped to organize the formation of the Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots. She didn’t wait for permission to do these things, she just made the decision to do it.
Are there things that you have had a longing to try and just let life get in the way? The saying is time flies when you are having fun but I really think it just flies whether you are being productive or not. Ever take a break from work or doing something around the house and scroll through Instagram or Twitter and before you know it 45 minutes have gone by? It is has happened to me plenty of times.
So what is it going to take to make that leap of faith and just put yourself out there and become who you know you were meant to be? It all starts with a choice. A choice to do something. Anything. It’s applying for that job you have always wanted but felt you weren’t qualified enough. It’s writing the first page of that book you have longed to write as you believe it can be a game changer in other’s lives if they read it. And it’s telling that certain someone that you love them. All of these are scary decisions because you don’t know what the outcome is going to be. The thing to remember is that there won’t an outcome at all to have if no decision is made. So if you want to have an impact on the world you just need to just do it. You’ve got nothing to lose.
