We Should Be Each Other’s Biggest Cheerleaders Now More Than Ever

“We should be lifting each other up, cheering each other on. Not trying to outshine or one up each other. The sky would be awfully dark with only one star.”

In a time where we need to become more socially aware now more than ever, today’s quote implores that we should all be each other’s biggest cheerleaders. Families and businesses are facing unforseeable struggles that are affecting their mental, physical and financial ways of life.

Although I am not a small or large business owner I know people who are. With mandatory closings of restaurants and stores this affects the people that work for them as they only make money when they work and unless they have a side hustle have no other money coming in. I hope there is someway to help them out as the longer they are out of work the longer they will struggle through this pandemic.

Nurses and doctors are putting their lives on the line each and everyday taking care of those infected by this coronavirus are while putting themselves and their families in harm’s way. I feel so much love and admiration for them. Although we are encouraged to practice social distancing we are actually becoming stronger thanks to social media as a nation and throughout the world. It is through one another’s encouraging words, posts and songs like was recently seen in Italy that is helping us push onward to the other side of this unfortunate event.

However I do have to throw some caution as to who is to blame for this pandemic and it is no one. I’ve read how some people are mistreating others just through the association of them being of a culture where this first started. This is uncalled for and if those that are throwing this sort of shade on others need to really look in the mirror as they are causing their own virus. A virus of pure hate. In my mind this type of virus can travel and affect more people at an even faster rate than an actual physical virus which can cause long term mental damage.

We need to remember that we are all in this together. We need to be ones that lift one another up, not push each other down. No one is more important than another. We are all beacons of hope and need to be that flicker of hope for one another. It is only through our conscious efforts and actions that we can overcome this pandemic through the love and respect that we show one another.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards becoming more socially aware?
