“Fearlessness is like a muscle. I know from my own life that the more I exercise it the more natural it becomes to not let my fears run me.”
Fearlessness is something that each of us strive to attain in our lives but it is not as easy to achieve as it sounds. This can be due to significant things that may have affected us at different points of our lives. What we need to remember is that despite what had happened, we did in fact get through those dark moments somehow, someway. We did not just stumble upon that fearlessness as it has been and is inside each of us already. Founder of the Huffingston Post and author Arianna Huffington reminds us of this in today’s quote.
Fearlessness is like a muscle within us like she states in her quote. It is within our own control to work this emotional muscle just like we would we our physical one at the gym. It will only become stronger by exercising it and this is done each and every time we are faced with challenges that scare us or worry us that we even doubt if we will be able to come out of it on the other side. No matter what has happened to you in the past, realize that you are still here. Still fighting. Still overcoming. Being fearless.
The fight that is within you, within all of us, is something that each time we dig down deep within ourselves to use it shows that we do not fear the consequences that come from the decision of not being afraid. Often times we may ask ourselves, what is the worse that can come from it or can things be any worse that they may already be? You don’t need a cape or superpower to take that leap of faith that you will come out on the other side of whatever you are facing. Fearlessness is that superpower.
Arianna Huffington even wrote a book entitled Fearless and how to become it. She writes stories from her own experiences and from others where moments of strength, courage and resilience result from confronting and overcoming fear. We have heard the saying throughout our lives that we can do anything if we put our mind to it. And it is time to put our mind towards tapping into our fearlessness muscle now as the more we utilize it the less likely will be afraid of anything that may cross our paths now and in the future.
