Our Moral Compass: Our Only Limit

“The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today.”

-Franklin D. Roosevelt

One of my favorite quotes that I have used often is by Yogi Roth who has said, “The only limits we have are the ones we put on ourselves.” This coincides a lot with the one that President Franklin D. Roosevelt said during his presidency. Doubts will always try to creep into our minds when we come across uncertainties of what the future may hold. What Franklin D. Roosevelt is trying to convey in his message to us is that the doubts of today will be the one limit to realizing what we could have tomorrow. And the funny thing is this realization is only prevented by one thing and one thing only: ourselves and our own thoughts.

When we are able to manage our thoughts and realize that we have more control over them than we think the we do those doubts that we have just melt away. Everything we need is within our control: our impulses, our stress management, self-discipline, self- motivation and goal setting. These are the underlying conditions of what encompasses self management. Remember that you have nothing to lose except when you let your own self doubt overtake you. You and you alone have the power to make your dreams of today become that reality of tomorrow. So just go out there and get what you deserve.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards managing yourself better?
