Our Moral Compass: The Most Powerful Influence

“Example, whether it be good or bad, has a powerful influence.”

-George Washington

No matter who you are, whether you are well known throughout the world or just within your own hometown we all bring with us a sense of influence. The type of influence we bring depends on the good or bad example we set in motion. Former President George Washington reminds us that whatever example we set for others, good or bad, will have a powerful influence on them. I believe our influence is dependent upon what we value within our own moral compass. With each and every experience we are being that good or bad example for others.

How we react to different situations is paramount as there is always someone watching our every move from our peers to our own family. As of late we have seen a lot of bad examples that we have a tendency to focus on that are negatively influencing our society’s future instead of focusing on those good examples that are out there if we look hard enough for them. Let’s make sure to try and influence others by looking for or setting a good example to follow.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards defining/refining your own moral compass?
