Our Moral Compass: Our Relationship With Nature

“Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you.”

-Frank Lloyd Wright

When we think of relationships we often think that this has to do mainly with our relationships with others or ourselves. But it also has to do with nature itself and our relationship with it. This is a relationship that often gets overlooked but is one we must be aware of at all times and nurture like we would with our person to person relationships.

Today’s quote comes from American architect, designer, writer, and educator Frank Lloyd Wright. He designed more than 1,000 structures over a period of 70 years and believed in designing his structures in harmony with humanity and its environment. His quote about making sure we study, love and remember to stay close to nature is more true now than ever due to the crisis with global warming. If we take the time to do those three things, nature will not fail us.

However if we continue on our dangerous and careless ways as a society with how we treat our environment currently I fear the relationship we have with nature will be a broken and toxic one. Let’s work together to ensure that nature and its future for our children’s children is still one that all can enjoy before it is too late.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your relationship skills?
