Our Moral Compass: A Few Good Men

“It is infinitely better to have a few good men then many indifferent ones.”

-George Washington

As we all know, the importance of establishing and sustaining quality relationships is key to a successful and happy life. President George Washington reminds us in today’s quote that it is inherently better that we surround ourselves with those that are of good character who demonstrate strong moral values than those that are without. Although I know he only mentions men I hope that if he had lived during our time this would include all kinds of people despite gender, race or creed.

We must remember to surround ourselves with the type of people that build us up, not tear us down. Ones that inspire, not discourage. The late Jim Rohm once said that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. Let’s make sure if that is true that we choose wisely in who we decide are in fact those people are.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your relationship skills?
