Our Moral Compass: Be Humble

“They’re not going to put your follower count, a list of things you owned or your net worth on your tombstone. Be humble. No matter what you have, nothing is as great as your capacity to love others—especially those who can do nothing for you.”

-Vex King, Good Vibes, Good Life: How Self-Love Is the Key to Unlocking Greatness

What does being humble mean to you? Someone who is modest and does not believe they are better than other people? If that is your definition of being humble then you and I have the same line of thinking. In today’s quote British record producer Vex King reaches the masses of people in the hopes that they realize no one will care about the number of followers on social media you have or how much money you have made as these are both things that will hold very little meaning to those who knew you. They will however remember the type of person you were, one that was giving and more importantly loving while expecting nothing in return. That is truly what a humble person is and each of us should be striving every day to reach that same pinnacle at the end of our lives. So what things can you do to becoming more humble in this day and age of likes and hashtags? Remember….you are more than a like or hashtag. There is more things that you can do by loving one another and focusing on those relationships because that is what is most important.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your relationship skills?
